Camera Choreography in NieR Replicant

I’ve been playing Nier Replicant lately. I went through Drakengard 1 and 3 after playing Automata and being my favorite game years ago. Since the early days of Drakengard, the camera work was already interesting, but seeing once again the cinematographic and isometric camera work done in Nier replicant and then adopted by Nier Automata too is like seeing a masterpiece in the workings. It’s absolutely beautiful and a pleasure to feel how a scene can change and how a narrative unfolds differently by just changing camera angle, to the point that the feelings you get from a scene change drastically. I think this is something widely and completely forgotten in modern media, and videogames.
